Principles, standards, and values are derived from many sources over time, Some being of greater importance and others less, and they take on a variety of forms for each individual. Then there are the emotional responses that are to be taken into account. Those under the age of legal maturity it is understandable if their standards and values are still in the formation process, and emotional responses are sometimes a major factor in the decision making process. Under the law they are still to be afforded an allowance as the status of a minor and not always held to account for inappropriate responses and actions, unless very seriously egregious. During this time of maturing a person should be exposed to principles and values that they will adopt as their own, and learn the reasons why they are important in life. Some individuals will reach a certain level of maturity even before becoming a teenager, others not so much. After an individual reaches the legal age of maturity their actions and reactions are considered their own responsibility, and are held accountable for such. By this age the emotional responses to situations are usually under-control, restrained, and even- tempered. All this factors into principles, standards and the value systems of an individual. Inside a family setting a person can gain insight to those ideals as they mature, or as a head of household they may adjust them to their own style, but usually it is just a different form of the same values they were taught, hopefully with as good or better results. If the values fall short of that which produce a positive and successful family life, there is always adjustments that can be made, After all of the different elements are taken into consideration and into account, it is gratifying to realize that a life and lifestyle free of stress and unnecessary problems is available and can be obtained by any individual or family.
